Community Partnerships

Our passion for pets means helping to make a difference for those that need it the most. That's why, as an active member of the pet care community, Purina is proud to support a range of leading pet welfare organisations and charities that share our values, in a variety of ways - supporting those who dedicate their lives to improving the life of domestic pets, as well as organisations promoting pets as practical and therapeutic companions for humans. Our philosophy is to develop long-term relationships with key charity partners to create programs that bring real and tangible benefit.

Purina is also an important partner in the local communities where we operate. Each of our plants and offices is closely involved with local initiatives, working to respect and support the communities where we work.

Community Veterinary Clinics project of the South African Veterinary Association

Most of the suffering experienced by domestic animals in our communities stems from preventable infectious diseases, uncontrolled breeding and ignorance.
From a veterinary perspective, sterilisation and vaccination of companion animals are vital to stem the tide of animal suffering in our country.
The Community Veterinary Clinics project of the South African Veterinary Association adequately addresses these needs and is supported by the Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Environment.

The SAVA Community Veterinary Clinics meets the challenge of delivering primary veterinary healthcare to disadvantaged communities.
Purina is proud to be involved with the work of the CVC. We support the clinics by sponsoring a range of initiatives which includes the printing of information booklets in different languages and a dog show. The Purina staff also work at the clinics once a month.
